Update
Dear Parents & Carers,
I hope you are all well and rested after our half term break. It was lovely to see all the children’s cheery faces on Tuesday morning as we returned to school for the second half of the Autumn term. I will be keeping up with the weekly update during this half term to make sure you are aware of all the important work going on in school and have up to date information.
Wearing school jumpers
As we move into November and beyond, the weather will continue to become colder and more unpredictable. Also, as part of our ventilation in school, we occasionally have the windows open and the internal doors are open as well. This is to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus in schools. Therefore, could I ask that the children have their school jumper in school and a suitably warm coat every day. This will help to keep them warm in school should they feel a slight chill. Rest assured we are only keeping windows and doors open where we need to ensure excellent ventilation throughout school.
Breakfast & After School Club
I just wish to make you aware that we are at the moment continuing to offer Breakfast and After School club. In order for us to plan effectively, we do need you to book the children in advance. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
Adherence to the lockdown
As you’ll be aware, we entered a national lockdown yesterday which lasts currently until 2nd December. In order to keep all our school community safe, it is essential we all adhere to the lockdown which prevents the mixing of households along other measures. This will help to reduce the transmission of the virus. If you need any support during the lockdown, please see myself or Mrs Farrell so we can help out where we can.
Report Card
Just a reminder that you will receive a short report card next Friday as a replacement for the usual Autumn Term parents Evening.
Clubs
Due to the ongoing restrictions and updated DfE guidance, we will not be offering any of our usual after school clubs until January at the earliest. I know after school clubs are very popular with the children and, as soon as the guidance changes, we will look to resume our clubs. Thank you for your patience with this.
Remote Learning
As a school we have been planning for the eventuality of class bubbles having to close due to positive cases within them. As you’ll be aware, we had two bubbles which had to close just before half term. However, if we have to close a bubble again, we will not have a half term break within the self isolation period.
Therefore, if a bubble closes, our first response will be to send home CPG books. These books were sent home with Year 6 just before the holidays. If they are sent home, please keep them at home. The books will only be sent home if/when a bubble has to close.
We are also working on creating an online support platform through our school website called Jotter Learn. This will allow your child’s classteacher to set online work for your child during their self isolation. I will be sending out more information about this soon when the system has been set up. However, should a bubble have to close, your child will receive CPG books to begin their remote learning.
Thank you for your support during our bubble closures before half term. If you have any questions regarding our Remote Learning support, please speak to a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
With very best wishes,
Mr Perkins
