Dear Parents & Carers,
I hope you are all well! Here we are on our final day of Remote Learning before all the children return to school next week. Although school will still not quite be ‘back to normal’, all the teaching team are really looking forward to seeing the children back in school and helping them settle back into school life and routines. This is our biggest priority over the coming weeks until Easter.
New Email Addresses
You may have noticed a couple of new email addresses above. The office email inbox was getting overloaded with a significant amount of spam which was meaning on some days we had over 500 emails. This meant that we were missing some important communication from you (our most important emails!) By setting up a new email address, we will reduce the amount of spam we receive and hopefully not miss any important communication.
I have added a Head email address as well just in case I am not on the gate at the minute due to our Covid measures and you need to get a message to me. However, the first priority for any questions or concern must still be your child’s class teacher, followed by Miss Haslam (Year 3-6) or Mrs Spilsbury (Reception to Year 2) before coming to me. If it is a complaint, you must ensure that you follow the school’s complaint procedure.
Contact
Although the weekly phone calls from staff will stop next week as more of the children are back in school, if you need to contact your child’s class teacher, please feel free to still do via their email address or through the office email above.
Covid Safety Measures
Our enhanced Covid safety measures are our school website for you to be reassured as much as possible that we are taking all necessary precautions to reduce the risk in school. There are some changes to our school procedures until Easter whilst the rates in the country are still high (although they are coming down) and to ensure that we continue to support the national effort to keep cases low.
It is really important that mask wearing is adhered to if you can when on the school premises particularly as more people will be interacting and that only 1 parent drops off/collects where possible. This will keep our interactions with people outside our household to a minimum and reduce the chance for the virus to spread.
It is also important that social distancing is adhered to when you are dropping off and picking up or waiting on the playground for your child’s door to open. We can help to reduce this by making sure that children only arrive when they are due to and not before and leaving the school playground quickly when you have dropped off. All of these measures with the safety precautions we are taking in school will help to support our drive to keep cases falling, reduce the risk of a bubble closing and support the national effort.
I have been really clear with my teaching team throughout the pandemic that they must follow all national law and guidance outside of school as much as in school. I must ask that we all do the same which includes no household mixing at the weekend or during the evenings until the restrictions are lifted.
Normal school life will return at some point soon. I truly believe better days on the horizon for us all and we can move forward as a school and a local community. After being in education for a long time now, I cannot wait for us to return to supporting the children in achieving the very best and the buzz of school life to return to what we all know and love.
