Dear Parents & Carers,
Update from Mr Perkins
Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a lovely week. It has been another fantastic week in school with lots of exciting learning happening. You may hear your children coming home saying they have had a couple of tests. We are using these tests to support our assessment of the children to plan effectively for learning following the disruption the children have had this year and are nothing to worry about. If you have any concerns about this, please see your child's teacher in the first instance.
As you'll be aware, the Prime Minister announced on Monday that he has pushed back the move to Stage 4 of the Government's Roadmap until 19th July. Following lengthy discussions in school, I have decided that we will remain with our current school systems now until the end of the summer term. Any proposed dates that I have written about before half term or last week will no longer apply. This I believe will allow us the best protection against the Delta variant.
Due to our systems, we will still be able to allow Sports Day to take place. The children are in very strict class bubbles for the day so they will not mix with children in other bubbles. We will remain with no spectators unfortunately. Any other events we had planned, I will write to you next week when all the guidance has been fully updated on our decision about them. I appreciate your understanding and support if we must cancel an event.
I would ask for your continued support during this time. This includes ensuring that you wear a mask when you come to drop off/collect your child; only 1 parent drop off/collects and you leave the school grounds afterwards; sticking to your drop off/pick times and socially distance on the playground. This will help to keep down infections and stop any potential bubble closure which I would have to do in the event of a positive case within a class. Thank you for your support and understanding in this.
Even with this news, there is much to look forward to over the coming weeks. Keep an eye out on our Facebook and Twitter feed for updates about the children's learning or any events we can hold. I wish everyone a lovely, safe weekend.

Dogs on the Playground
Further to the letter that was sent out on Wednesday 9th June regarding the above, we must consider the welfare and safety of our school community for everyone. They could have allergies and be approached by a dog, be near a dog or frightened by dogs. This includes whether the dog is on a lead or being carried.
The Launch of ParentPay has been a success however, we still need more people to activate their accounts by July 16th. As you will be aware, by September 2021, the school will be a cash-free environment.
If you need your unique ParentPay Account activation detail’s they can be found on a letter which was sent out w/c 3rd May. If you no longer have this letter, the staff in the office can issue it. The team in the office can also help you with any enquires to assist with ParentPay.
There is also a user-friendly video on the Willow Tree home page which gives step by step guidance on how to use the new ParentPay application.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club sessions from 27/6/21 will have to be booked on the ParentPay website. You will no longer be able to book places at the office. Bookings will need to be made by the Friday at the latest for the following week’s sessions.
Walking home alone
Only pupils from years 5 and 6 are allowed to leave school at the end of the day without an adult. Permission in writing must have been given before the children will be allowed to leave school alone. Please speak to the office if you have any concerns.
Road Safety
I have received some complaints about inconsiderate driving on Willow Tree avenue outside of school. I would ask for the safety of all our children that you drive slowly when dropping and picking up your children. Please also fully comply with the no parking restrictions.
Also, unfortunately, I have had reports of inappropriate language being used as well. Please can we ensure that we are not using inappropriate language around our children. Thank you for your support in this.
Year 6 Photographs Monday 21st June
Year 6 will have individual and class photographs taken. Due to the current restrictions photographs for the other year groups will not be taken this year.
