Dear Parents & Carers,
Update from Mr Perkins
Hello everyone, I hope you all have had a lovely week. We are always trying to promote children's physical health and wellbeing in school. With this in mind, we have changed our morning snack items to ensure the children have a balanced mid-morning snack. All Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children have the offer of fruit at breaktime and I would encourage all children to take up the offer of free fruit. Our snack menu for all other children is:
Monday - Brioche
Tuesday - Yoghurt & Cheese
Wednesday - Crunchy Healthy Bars
Thursday - Yoghurt & Cheese
Friday - Crisps
We are trying to balance out the snack menu, so for example children are not eating crisps for example every playtime and during their lunch. If you could support us by providing different snacks at playtime or encouraging your child to have fruit if available, this would be much appreciated. It would also be appreciated if you could support with providing your child with a balanced meal at lunchtime. Thank you for your support.
All teachers have held their 'Welcome to Year...' meetings this week. I hope you had the opportunity to go along and hear all about the exciting learning which your child will be
experiencing this year. If you missed your child's information evening, any presentation will be made available via your child's class page on the school website.
Due to a clash with World Mental Health Day next Friday, we have moved the Harvest Festival Assembly led by Year 4 to Friday 15th October. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thank you for supporting Willow Tree Bake Off last week and the MacMillan Coffee morning. It was fantastic to see so many parents and the smell from the cake was simply divine! We have made so far over £295 from the morning. Thank you for supporting such a worthy cause.
Last Friday, I had the opportunity to support our Year 5 and Year 6 Girls at the first inter school competition since before the pandemic. All the girls played brilliantly and displayed excellent sportsmanship. Well done girls!
Not quite as lovely a weekend forecast this weekend - make sure you have a brolly handy! Have a pleasant weekend.
