Hello everyone! I hope you are all well. It has been a very creative week in school this week with our Author Arts week based around the book Pansy Boy. All the children have worked with various artists or puppet makers to base their artwork around the themes in the book. Hopefully, you have been able to see some of the work online. Year 4 and Year 5 worked with a local drama company on Wednesday and Thursday this week. As I write, Year 6 will have a question-and-answer session with the author Paul Harfleet. It has been lovely to see so many nice activities happening around school this week.
We have also had two sporting competitions this past week. Year 3 and Year 4 went off with Miss Holdsworth and Mr Geraghty to take part in a gymnastics competition. I managed to have a sneak peak of the performance before they went and it was amazing! So, I am not surprised that the children have achieved a silver award and are moving onto the Merseyside County Finals as their score was so high! Year 6 have taken part in a hockey competition this week as well - lots going on! They won 7 games overall with just a few losses which led to them narrowly missing on a bronze medal. Such an achievement for both our teams. It is always lovely to hear from other schools about how well our children behave at the events and how well they represent Willow Tree. Well done to all the teams involved.
I wish everyone a lovely weekend.
