Well done to Year 6 with 99 percent attendance.
Start of the Day
A reminder – school starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.15pm. The children must be in their classroom at 8.45am
Sammy Clothes Collection
The children will be bringing bags home to fill with donated items. The bags will be collected from school on 22/10/24. Collecting these reusable clothes raises much needed funds for school and additionally raises money for Leukaemia and Myeloma Research UK. Please start to collect any unwanted items ready to fill the bags.
Attendance
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
Have a backup plan for if your child misses transport, call on a family member, neighbour or friend.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Send messages to check on your child in their absence.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
A massive thank you to all the families who kindly donated cakes for the coffee morning and to those that sent cash donations into school. There were some fantastic cakes making it very hard to pick a winner as they were all so amazing.
The head girl and boy and deputy girl and boy chose the winning 2 cakes.
Caben Killen from Year 2 was awarded 1st prize for his Willow Tree themed cake and 2nd prize went to Nieve Ashcroft from Year 3 for her Willow Tree Farm themed cake.
Nieve so kindly then donated her prize money to the charity.
The children all enjoyed sampling the cakes and £160 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
Thanks for all the entries.
