What YOU must do:

Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.

Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.

If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.

Have a backup plan for if your child misses transport, call on a family member, neighbour or friend. If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help.

What WE will do:

Check your child’s attendance every day.

Send messages to check on your child in their absence.

Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you. Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.

If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit

Toast at school

We are pleased to let you know that our Greggs Breakfast Club will continue to run each morning before school. We are incredibly grateful to Greggs for their kind donation, which allows us to provide toast to children free of charge as part of this club. In addition to this, toast will also be available for all children to purchase at morning break. The cost will be £1 per week payable on Arbor we are unable to take cash for the toast from 9th June.

After School Club and Breakfast Club

Please ensure you book places on the clubs as we need to know how many children will be attending to safely staff the clubs and provide food for them. Children can not attend unless they are booked in on Arbor.

Staff Changes

Further to my letter last week, I can also confirm that Mr. Allinson and Mrs Bagdonavicius will be leaving us in July.

I would like to thank Mrs Bagdonavicius for her hard work in her role as SENDCo and class teacher at Willow Tree. We wish her great success in her new promotion as Assistant Head.

Mr Allinson has taught across the school over his years with us and we wish him well in his Mathematics Leader role.

We are currently in the process of recruiting replacements for the above posts. All children will have opportunity to meet their new teacher from September, before we break up.
