Hello everyone! I hope you are all okay. Firstly, thank you for your support and understanding during our unexpected closure last Thursday and Friday. As it has been all year, it is greatly appreciated and I hope that as we move into the new academic year, any incidents like that will be few and far between.
As you may have seen, Gavin Williamson was speaking in the commons earlier this week about the plans for schools in September. The Department for Education have released their updated guidance for September. However, bitter experience this year has taught me not to plan too far in advance. I will be meeting senior leaders this coming week to put together very provisional plans. I will be finalising the plans for September closer to our return to school just in case the DfE change the guidance. I will be sending out an end of term letter next Friday with some key dates as to when I will be publishing our plan for September. Until the children finish for the summer next Friday, I would ask that you maintain with the safety measures we have in place as detailed in previous newsletters.
I have spent some of this week reading the children's end of year reports. It has been fantastic to read how well our children have achieved this year despite the many challenges they have faced. It is truly a credit to everyone involved. Your child's report will be given out on Wednesday next week without any further disruptions. I will be sending a letter out with your child's report explaining the different sections as we have changed the format from last year.
We are very nearly at the end of a busy summer term! I hope you all have a lovely weekend
